Wow, congrats! I just hit my 500 day streak. My French is really coming along, maybe just a tiny bit below your level of Spanish, but I also studied it in school, so I wasn't a total newbie. I also loved how you filmed and edited this video, so fun and entertaining! And I was totally distracted during the sunscreen application, because all I could focus on was trying to tell you which spots you had missed and needed to rub in more 😂

Your hair looks amazing. Like when you were younger and living with mama foti. I took a course about how people learn languages and my instructor said that having daily life that you can speak the language is very helpful. Also, he said that when you start to dream in the language that is a sign that your subconscious is picking up the language too. Good job Nic on 1000 days. ❤

Congrats though. I hit 800 a couple weeks ago and I really thought the same thing -- by now I should be fairly fluent. ... I'm not. I cannot speak it. My accent is terrible and I stumble so much trying to conjugate in my head. But I am fairly decent at reading and that still feels like a win. There are definitely better ways to learn, but I like the daily routine.

I LOVE the editing style you chose to go with for this video. It seems so all over the place but you carry a consistent train of thought throughout it so it's a lot more entertaining than just watching someone sit and talk to a camera. Always thought you were a great editor, but as time progresses, you continue to impress and entertain me. Love ya and best of luck in your continued journey to being multilingual.

My sister and niece are learning French via Duolingo, and i am learning German (it just hit my mind how well i was processing it). I am loving it, however, Duo is so emotionally abusive and constantly nagging, in emails and app notifications, it is an odd experience for me.

Nah uh, after 6 months of duolingo I can only recognize words sometimes, I need an harder training That sounds very weak ( I'm not judging your skills, but 1000 days it's 1000 days! ) In which language you gained more fluency? Nicola, the Javanese part made me laugh so much, because I am sitting here next to my partner this morning, who grew up on the island of Java. I went, "That's Indonesian. I heard small words I know, like 'di.' Is that Indonesian?!" He goes, "No." It absolutely was. 😂❤ 🇮🇩 He always tells me he is bad at speaking in his own country, but he is very good at English. (His parents are also from a different island, too.) I have been trying to learn Bahasa since I met him, because I knew I wanted to marry him, & speak to his parents. We got married last year. 😌 My Bahasa is still poor. Also, I find your ear for language amazing!!
